Today I got a phone call from Ashford University.
A while back I was feeling self-conscious about not completing my degree and looked into finishing it on line. I must have requested info, I don’t remember doing that but some how they got my phone number and I got a call.
The guy I was talking to was WAY too eager to get me to attend this school. Even after I told him I had a baby 2 months ago and I was a little busy. He must have asked me 5 times if getting my degree was important to me. I was being too nice to him but he must have been sensing he wasn’t getting anywhere because he asked me if I wanted to be a good example to my son someday!
I was speachless only for a second. I have been working on saying what I want to say instead of shrinking to saying something nice and wishing I had said what needed to be said, much like Meg Ryan in You’ve Got Mail. So I said what was on my mind. I was still nice but I think he got the picture that I wasn’t too excited about what he said.
I was very proud of myself. I said what I wanted, when I wanted. none of that running thinking about what I should have said later. I love this!! I think being a mom has helped me be more bold. I like the new me!!
